The vibe of the summer 2025
British food and shiny details. FYI this is our anniversary post. We just turned 1.
It’s Ashe on the intro this week - I can’t seem to escape corndogs here in NL. Sounds like paranoia, or maybe even just the Baader–Meinhof phenomenon again.
Since mid-April, corndogs have popped up in menus of three restaurants that I frequent, and even showed up in food stalls during King’s Day.
Trending? Or targeted attack?
🗞️News
‘Sinners’ may be the highest-grossing R-rated movie of the year. Critics, fans, your group chat... everyone’s obsessed. Honestly? Same.
Glastonbury final tix got sold out in 20 minutes.
Met Gala is happening in May 5. The theme this year “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style”
JoJo Siwa’s Big Brother UK stint is TikTok’s current dramageddon - we don’t care too much for it.
🧂Trends
‘Eggs Six Ways’ Egg Flight
People are serving up “eggs six ways” - think boiled egg flights with creative toppings. Recession-core? Maybe.
But it also fits the growing wave of food as content; cause food is becoming luxury, baby.
Italian Brainrot
IDK what to tell you - but ‘italian’ brainrot has taken over online spaces. It’s absurd AI generated images of animals (like a shark wearing shoes) or creatures with gibberish ‘Italian’ names for them; Tralalero Tralala - the shark wearing Nikes.
It’s nonsense. It’s everywhere. It’s stuck in our heads.

Carrie Bradshaw summer
Brat summer? Hot girl summer? The TikTok girlies have rebranded—it’s the Carrie Bradshaw summer. “Wearing long skirt, tube tops, making bad decisions, walking the city, window shopping.” And for the guys—don’t hold it against us, but short shorts are (still) very much in. Recently Harry Styles broke internet with his tiny red Adidas shorts.

British Food
Heavy British flavour. Some recents are Magnolia in Paris, William's Farmhouse and Greasy Spoon in Amsterdam spinning the Full English. Meanwhile, other restaurants are just flirting with British food staples like bone marrow. The comeback of the carnivore diet is real. Climate change who?
Metallic sneakers
Everyone’s wearing every sneaker brand is trying to sell you shiny sneakers this season. ICYMI the sole is slim.

TikTok Trends:
These are very painfully TikTok [and maybe future Reels] trends, but even if you’re not necessarily directly effected by it - we don’t wanna keep you in the dark. Gotta have the in with the chronically online colleague (or just inspo for the social media managers reading).
“I’m so hungry I could eat…” (your oddly specific past)
TikTok’s latest format twist: “I’m so hungry I could eat…” followed by the most hilariously specific person from your life - your childhood classmate, your ex’s prom date, the guy who fixed your Wi-Fi in 2018.
Bonus chaos? Some are using it to call out their partner’s side piece. The more niche the name-drop, the bigger the gasp.
1 Silverback Gorilla vs 100 Men
TikTok men are debating if 100 of them could take down a silverback gorilla in hand-to-hand combat.
And people are taking sides - some think that 100 men would easily overpower the gorilla, and the others think this is just absurd.
