have we found the future of CVs?
+ sweater weather (styling them), metallic obsessions, and some more trends for your head (and hair)
Hi! Reporting after my morning run (Ilze writes). Two observations. First, there’s more of us. It’s like we had collective amnesia. Just a minute ago running was accused of being too strenuous, but now everyone seems to be part of a running club. Second, everyone’s kitted out in very serious running gear. I’m talking vests, compression socks, belt bags and running shorts. And then there’s me in an old grey ralph lauren cap and oversized Nike shirt I borrowed from a friend after a sleepover. No Strava on my phone, just good ol’ Soundcloud. It once was a joke that about everyone turning 30 starting to train for a marathon, now it seems that everyone is turning 30?
Sota had a great piece on how marathons have become fashion weeks and running gear – the new status symbol. Soon you’ll also hear my take on this (if you’re a runner reading this and would like to have a chat - hit me up).
But until then here’s some other stuff Ashe and I observed this week:
tying sweater diagonally. Spring weather is unpredictable and layering is the key. But during those happy moments of warmth what do you do with the sweater? Not tying around the waist, god no, you need to show off your new belt (which is having a moment in fashion btw). Around the shoulders like a retired tennis player? Nope. Observing closely the terraces and bingewatching IG stories this weekend we came to conclusion that diagonally is the way to go.
apparently, a Harvard resume template is THE way to get employed. Forget Canva and those AI builders; TikTok's resume gurus are all about that Harvard vibe now. But wait, here's the plot twist: while it may be a hit in the USA, European resumes are often preferred with a picture of the applicant. But is it all about the text-only info-packed summary now?
instagram clean-up. Instagram is getting emptier. Just look at your cool young cousin’s feed and what you’ll see? Almost nothing. As more people are emptying their feeds. Some of the cleaners explained their desire to "remain mysterious" and to discard items that don’t fit their new aesthetics, while others mentioned the quandary of "how to seem effortless yet still post something worth sharing." But before getting rid of everything, perhaps consider archiving? Maybe this is all connected to the phenomenon of people fleeing to ‘quieter’ social media like Letterboxd, Pinterest, and tumblr.
scrunchie is sexy now. You remember those? Once only acceptable for dressing up as an 80s aerobics trainer, fluffy, oversized hair bands are now on everyone's heads. Literally.
(hair) mask mania! On the menu of the internet's latest obsession with hair care - Japanese hair masks. While Shiseido Fino leads the pack, it's not always the best fit for low porosity hair. Other viral favs are Tsubaki and Ichikami (which seem to work on most hair types). Psst... some are even comparing these Japanese gems to the once-viral 'K18' hair mask (but a LOT cheaper). Maybe you’ll find your perfect match through this guide on TikTok:
audio aesthetics. Step back in time with the latest trend: retro-style headphones as statement accessories. Yep, those funky old-school looking ones are back in style. but get this, ‘modern’ Sonys and Airpod Maxes? People are personalizing them by crocheting cute pieces or buying cool attachments. Plus, the nostalgia doesn't stop there – the classic iPods seem to be making a comeback too. It's music to our ears – and quite the stylish surprise!
photos via pinterest metals in interior. What is a-must in every petnat drinking, Carhartt-wearing, plant-daddy’s homes? A chrome shelf. Where else they would stack their vinyl collection! As AD and Pinterest predicted – shiny, cold metals are in style not only in fashion, but also home design. Think steel ice cream cups and metallic floor lamps.

This lil’ boutique in Convent Garden stocks up “rare cool contemporary perfume houses”. Their web page has a cool smell-alike perfume finder. Yes, Le Labo’s Santal 33 is featured.
P.S. I hope you heard that they’re looking for a guy in finance…6’5”…
