There’s a lot to talk about in the Olympics - and the internet is buzzing with sports news and TikToks from these incredible athletes. But it’s Ashe on the intro, and I can’t get over the Olympic athlete obsessed with the chocolate muffins at the event.
Now, I know the Olympic athletes probably end up having to eat healthy (and the US gymnastics team did not talk too fondly about the flavor of the food they get), but Norwegian swimmer Henrik Christiansen will not stop posting about - and eating - chocolate muffins.
Others in the Olympic village are also on the hunt, to understand what Henrik is so obsessed with, but in his own words:
Other athletes are even trying to ‘expose’ him [humorously] by showing that he eats more than just the muffins. Many viewers were trying to track down which bakery or catering the muffin comes from, and chocolate muffin recipes are top priority for food creators.
All the chocolate muffin content has even gotten all us… less athletic people wanting a taste. If you know a good spot in the Netherlands for a decadent chocolatey muffin, send it our way, please.
No Mascara
Lazy girlies get excited - the hottest summer makeup trend doesn’t even include makeup. The best match for that a bit overdone blush that’s been trending is skipping mascara - already seen embraced by Hailey Bieber and the gals at Met Gala but now really apparent on the streets.

Sunxiety
There’s a bit of a ‘sun phobia’ going around—no, not the giant solar flare kind, but the everyday UV exposure and its aging effects. The popularity of skincare content - focused a lot on the correct usage and reapplication of SPF - seems to have made some people anxious about sun exposure.
There’s been some creators pushing extreme anti-sun or pro-sun movements. On one side, you have the sunscreen slatherers, who won’t let daylight touch their skin without layers of protection. On the other, the sunscreen deniers mock the idea of sun protection, touting it as unnecessary because it’s ‘all-natural’.
Thankfully, many are chiming in with a balanced perspective: enjoy the sun safely without making drastic changes to hide from it entirely.
Head Spa
Hailing from Asia and then buzzing in the US, head spa-craze has reached Europe, especially booming Hungary, acc to TikTok's stats. Think of a head spa as a facial for your scalp: soothing massage with a deep scalp cleanse to ditch buildup and boost circulation. What's really sending this trend viral? The ASMR effect of the videos from the treatment.
And it’s not just head spas—scalp treatments in general are having a major moment.

Stay Hydrated with Liquid IV?
People are now drinking ‘Liquid IV’ - an electrolyte drink mix - every day to "properly hydrate" themselves. Once reserved for athletes or gym fanatics after intense workouts, and for those battling the flu or Covid, Liquid IV is becoming a morning routine staple.
Instead of reaching for caffeine or Gatorade, folks are mixing up a packet of electrolyte solution in water right after waking up, claiming it’s the best way to rehydrate after an 8-hour sleep stint.
Plus, it’s a hit for after-party recovery. Just drink a glass before sleeping after an eventful night (or day, festival go-ers) and you’v got the hydration to reduce a hangover - or comedown.

The New Pop-Socket?
Have you noticed those rectangles on the backs of people's phones? These sticky pads, aka "sticky grippies" or “Octobuddies” are the new go-to for social media content creators. They're just silicone suction pads that can stick to almost any surface, making them a handy tripod alternative. People are even carrying spares to attach to surfaces for easier phone mounting.
And it’s not just for content creation—some are sticking them to e-readers for convenient reading in bed or even in the shower! They’ve been around for a while but have recently gained popularity (maybe after the Euro summer influx of Americans) . Plus, with new MagSafe versions, you don’t even have to stick them permanently to your phone or case!

Worn-out caps
Caps in general are having a hell of a summer but particularly those with a bit of a shaggy vibe. We’re talking distressed, faded, and even deformed.
Now, before you go shopping for one (Diesel, Balenciaga, Martin Rose has some), just follow Jeremy Allen White’s playbook (below)
Also a good time to sell your beaten cap on Vinted. But better to keep quiet about the things it has seen.

Word on the streets of Marseille….
People have started becoming obsessed with Louise Carmen notebooks - she specializes in leather notebook systems. She does appointments where you essentially ‘build’ a notebook (or diary or card holder) together, picking the patina for the leather, the cord to hold it together, and other personalizations/customizations. The Marseille local says “I keep searching for and waiting for her videos where she talks to customers to make these decisions. For my birthday I will go to Paris & get one with my boyfriend.”

Before we go separate ways… hey, there’s usually more content? We’ve got some sick writers (stay healthy out there!), and the summer is getting to us. Trust, we’ll bring you more next week - and maybe a few new updates to our newsletter format.
